Donor-covered fees
Starting today, organizations can ask donors to cover the processing fee for their donation. Once enabled, donors will be able to add processing fees to new and existing donations. This is turned off by default, and has to be enabled by both a GivingFire account manager and an administrator in your organization before it can be used. We want to make sure you're aware of some bookkeeping and donor-centric issues before deploying it to your donors. If you'd like to get started, email your account manager or open a support ticket.
Customizable HTML Receipts
You might have seen this by now, but we
added customizable HTML receipts to GivingFire last week. In addition to
having a more modern a professional look, these emails will also include
your organization logo and the thank you message can be customized for your
organization. To update the thank you message, go to Settings >
Organization on your administrative dashboard and edit the
"Emails" section at the bottom of the page.
Offline Tracking & Offering Envelopes
Have you used GivingFire to track offline
cash & check donations yet? Tracking offline donations gives allows
your donors to track every single donation they give, enables your admins
to create year-end tax statements, and gives leaders insight into donations
for the entire organization. There's never any fee to track offline
donations - it's included in every GivingFire account for free. If you'd
like a walkthrough of the offline tracking feature, contact your account
manager to schedule time this month.
Finally, we're testing out new tithe & offering envelopes for churches.
In addition to normal use, these envelopes help your donors set
up automated monthly tithes without ever going online. If you
have a large segment of your church that either 1) won't use online giving
or 2) continue to give sporadic, one-time gifts, I'd love to talk to you
and see if the new envelopes will help. As always, these envelopes are
included with your GivingFire account and there's no extra charge. If you're interested, contact your account manager and we'll send you some envelopes and suggestions on how to implement them in your church.
